The total export cargo of 37,587 tonnes comprised 36,266 tonnes of containerised cargo; 220 tonnes of general cargo; 1,101 tonnes of bulk cargo: 890 tonnes of sugar and 211 tonnes of rice. As many as 2,981 containers comprising 711 containers import and 2,270 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The brakeup of imported containers shows 201 of 20's and 200 of 40's loaded while 106 of 20's and 2 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,003 of 20's and 370 of 40's loaded containers while 45 of 20's and 241 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There are seven ships namely Hyundai Freedom, CSAV Lanalhue, UASC Ajman, MT Lahore, Cosco Tengfei, Chabok and Vina Lines Sky with three container ships, one oil tanker, one vehicle carrier, one L craft and one general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There are two vessels viz Kota Gunawan and Tegucigalpa with one container ship and one ship under repair respectively are currently at the berths.
There are two ships namely Kota Gunawan and Amanda with two container ships sailed out to sea on Wednesday. There are five vessels viz Santa Refeala, Stream Luna, UACC Al-Medina, Alpine Moment and Meltemi with one container ship, one ethanol tanker, one jet oil tanker, one naphtha tanker and one mogas ship respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while four vessels viz APL Brisbane, Thailand Express, Golden Gion and Chaynee Naree with two container ships, one ethanol tanker and one general cargo ship respectively are due to arrive on Thursday. There are four ships namely Hammonia Ionium, OOCL Busan, Bon Chem and MT Quetta with two container ships, one ethanol tanker and one crude oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Friday.
The total import cargo of 65,465 tonnes includes 32,402 tonnes of furnace oil; 6,000 tonnes of edible oil; 2,556 tonnes of chemicals and 24,507 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 35,133 tonnes includes 1,596 tonnes of wheat and 33,537 tonnes of containerised cargo.
One ship namely MV Gas Sulawest with LPG sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while two more ships namely CV Sealand Washington and CV Nedlloyd Tasman with containers are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of six vessels viz CV Sealand Washington, CV Nedlloyd Tasman, MV Gas Sulawest, MT Arietis, MV Sai Eternity and MT Chem Road Vega are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, furnace oil, chemicals and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as three ships namely CMA CGM Billini, Beauty Full Rina and Vina Lines Sky with containers, ores and steel coil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. There are three vessels viz CV CMA CGM Billini, MV Beauty Full Rina and MV Vina Lines Sky with containers, palte ores and steel coil are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal (MW-3 & MW-4) respectively on Wednesday.
